A story of father and son, family, faith and resilience that created the first Fernet from the Missões region.
From a homemade still to a modern distillery
Jane'C was born in Santo Ângelo, Brazil, during the pandemic, bringing father and son together to revive an old dream. With an improvised still — a pressure cooker, a piece of reused copper and a simple bucket — they began making craft spirits with their own identity.
It was about time together, learning and reclaiming something left behind. My father worked in industry in the 1990s but life led him away from that dream. The pandemic gave us that time back.
"Distilling our Fernet brought father and son together again, through routine, conversation and building something every day." — Luis Fernando Spagnol Copetti, Founder & CEO
When we finally registered the distillery and took that big step, life put us to the test. Two days before we were to produce the first official batch together, my father passed away. He was my right hand, my greatest supporter and the reason for it all.
Moving forward was hard, but our customers gave us strength. They spontaneously created the phrase "The Jane'C Nation honors you", in his honor. Today, the Jane'C Nation stands for community, belonging and truth.
